Do you accept commissions? What animals/breeds can you make? Yes, I accept commissions. The price will depend on the size and breed of the animal. I generally finish custom orders within 3-6 weeks of receiving the photographs and payment, although sometimes it can take longer. I can make any breed of cats or dogs (purebred or mixed) as long as photographs are provided. Feel free to email or visit my "Orders" page for additional details. If you are interested in commissioning an animal other than a dog or cat, please contact me and I will let you know if this is possible.
How much does it cost to commission a miniature version of my pet? For commissioned sculptures of any breed dog/cat, my price is $200 USD plus shipping. Before starting any commissioned work, I require payment up front. I work very hard to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. For more pricing information, please visit my "Orders" page. I offer lower cost alternatives for those who cannot afford a custom sculpture. I also accept commissions on brooches, keychains, purse clips, magnets, cell phone charms, Christmas ornaments and bookmarks created from photos of your pet. These range in price from $50 - $65 plus shipping.
What is needle felting? What are the animals made of? Needle felting is the process of taking raw wool roving and using a special barbed needle to sculpt it into shape. The sculpting is done by poking the wool fibers thousands of times until they interlock and felt together. This process is extremely time-consuming, and each dog takes many hours, and often many days, to complete. How large are the dogs and cats you make? If I place a custom order can I choose the size? When placing a custom order, you can choose for your pet to be created any size between 1"- 4" tall (from toes to ears). I can also create them in 1:12 dollhouse scale. On request I can make commissions in a larger scale, but this will result in additional fees.
Do you ship Worldwide? How much are the shipping charges? Yes, I ship worldwide. Most needle felted sculptures will be $17.00 shipping to the United States and $16.00 shipping for Canadian and International destinations. For larger orders additional shipping charges will apply. The shipping fees for my needle felted items includes full insurance. Keychains, Brooches etc can be mailed for approximately $8.00 shipping to the US, $10 to Canada. I am willing to ship internationally, however it is quite expensive as I do require full insurance coverage on my sculptures. My paper goods (cards, magnets) and buttons can be mailed uninsured for a smaller postage fee. I am not responsible for the loss of uninsured parcels.
I currently have a shop set up at Etsy and Dawanda. I occasionally have auctions listed on Ebay. I have online galleries set up at CDHM and EBSQ. Some photos of my work can also be seen on Flickr.
I work very hard to make ensure my customers are completely satisfied with their purchases. I currently do not offer refunds, except in special situations. However, if there is an issue with your order please don't hesitate to contact me - I will do my best to fairly resolve the issue.
What forms of payment do you accept? My preferred method of payment is Paypal. If payment through Paypal is not possible, I will accept International Money Orders (remember to make sure they can be cashed in Canada).
